Hey there,
I've been lurking Pixel Joint for a while and decided to join and try making some pixel art. There is a rule for submitted pixel arts: "Any art you post should be PIXEL ART! Pixel art implies that each pixel is placed by hand (no filters, paintbrushes, gradient fills, etc)." I used Paint.NET to try and make some pixel art, would it be allowed to use the hue, saturation and opacity tools on layers? Am I even allowed to use layers? If the rule is very strict it would mean that I'd have to re-color every pixel of a colour if I am not satisfied with it. Am I even allowed to use the line and paint bucket tool to cover large areas? Hoping this is the right place to ask this and thanks in advance! - Bryant |

look here for a better definition.
using hsv sliders to edit a colour is fine, because you have complete control over the resulting colour. partial opacities aren't allowed. Floodfilling is fine, as is the line tool. Basically, if the result from a tool is completely predictable: go ahead. If you don't know where all the pixels are going to end up and what colour they're going to be: not fine. e: layers are cool too, just as long as they don't have any layer effects and are at 100% opacity.
