Hi, so I'm trying to maybe possibly make a mockup of a possible game idea I might someday attempt to create (yeah...), and I'm having trouble with a few things, so I'd appreciate your help.
So we have this house:
(the empty opening to the left is a door that I haven't made yet :P) And the problems: Number 1: THE WINDOWS, oh god I have no idea what I'm doing there, I've never been one for detailed work so I'm completly stumped, if you can't tell, they're wooden windows with metallic poles. Number 2: What is wrong with the little arches? I'm not sure how to shade them correctly to correspond with the lighting, help? Number 3: what am I supposed to do with the flat empty spaces between everything? how do I texture them without being too strong or too weak? they're supposed to be flat, matte painted surfaces, but I'd still like some sort of wind and rain-worn effect, this is supposed to be a desert house, by the way. Okay, it's a lot to ask, but I'd really appreciate even the tiniest tip, thanks. Edited by Glasswork - 07 June 2012 at 5:07am |

I'd say start with creating a pattern for the walls (bricks or something)
Next to that I wonder why you've added 2 sides but no depth? :) I think the wood looks pretty cool but since everything else is less detailed it looks odd. Keep on progressing. Trial and error is key to succes if you ask me. |
