I own a small software company, and we are looking for an artist that is really good with .. well small artwork. If you are looking to enhance your portfolio (we do release games), or to be able to grab any software we have for free, or just want to be part of the team we more than welcome you.

here's the skinny

We are making a spinoff of the old game "Gauntlet" only it will have some RPG qualities to it... and there is only the Elf as the main character. Below is an example of what we have now, but obviously ... desperately needing better and each picture will need to be 32x32 icon size.

If you would be interested in this experience please let me know (the artwork doesn't need to be fantastic, just better then what we currently have)

(MORE INFO)
   1. Company Info - Snowball Software
   2. Job Info - to make an elf holding a bow 32x32 (16 positions)

I'd say this is the best I could do while still trying to keep him green-ish
otherwise he wouldn't look as foresty and elfish enough for my tastes ^_^

also if anyone is interested, i have a few more still needed (ghost, monster, skeleton dude, etc ...) only two moving frames needed (not every angle). I am hoping someone can make something better than i can (i'm not very good at it)

I just need a ghost, monster, skeleton, thief, and thats it!

Here's a ghost. I'll make the other ones if you like. Does it need to be more top downish looking?

ooh nice ghosty!

I hate to be picky but yeah, it has to be very top downish looking. Kind of like looking at the top of the ghosts head (if it had one). I do like that little ghost though! i wish i could use it!

Its very difficult (more difficult than i thought it would be) to make sprites top down looking. I tried making my own and it looks like ... well i can't say ...

YES! OOH that will look really good! I just need a 2nd pose of him the same way (with his arms moved a bit ... or maybe his body shifted over a pixel or two).

I'll post a screenshot when i get the chance. It gets a little crazy with the shadow (it looks cool but these sprites rotate a full 360 degrees and the shadow moves also (when it should not). What i will do is remove the shadow and figure out a way to add it back into all of the 30 frames.

Setzer I see a problem with your character. It will look as though as he is ice skating when its animated, cuz you moved the legs and amrs simmultaneously.

When humans walk or run, if the right leg goes forward, the right arm will go backwards, and vice et versa. =)

That is very easy to fix, you just have to switch the upper body of one of the frames to the other one ^^

Nice sprite! I love the definitions.

Jabbyjim: I'll get right on it. Do you want the other directions too?

The other facing directions? Oh no just two frames for the monsters ... the program "moves" the monsters torwards the good guy (the elf) and rotates them automatically (so no other directions are needed). Just two frames for each monster.

i forgot i also need an evil wizard dude (i almost forgot about that guy)

so all the baddies i need two frames of are:

ghost (got one frame so far and it looks great! woo!)
monster (can be anything, but a demon is cool)
skeleton (he's going to throw bones, but i can make the bones myself i think)
thief (just a sneaky little guy really holding a bag or something?)
evil wizard (can look like anything)

Thank you everyone so much for helping, i'll be sure to include you in the game and give you a copy (its the least i can do).

Well, theres four frames. I just repeated the stop frame twice so its really three. If you need only two just delete the first and third frames.

thank you SOOO much!

here is a screenshot of what the game looks like with the new ghosts (it looks much better .. but you can see how i'm going to have to take the shadow out of a handfull of angles)

Those are excellent, Hishnak... but if the game rotates the monsters, it wont work for the skeletons and thieves =(
Youd need an almost perfect top view for the automatic rotation to work.

Id fix that in the game instead of in the sprites though... Would look much better in RPGMaker View and with extra sprites for different directions :)

yeah i hear you ... i wanted to stay true to the "Gauntlet" theme though and not make it look like something else (if i can help it). But you are right, the thief and the skelleton is going to look .. a bit off at different angles.

Coding for having it work otherwise is a huge pain, plus it needs alot more sprite action.

looks like it's really shaping up!  I still have the old gauntlet cart for the NES... and I think I have it on my cell phone, too.
