So.. I'm not really wise on color theory, so I don't really pick my
pallates too well. I do tend to do the best I can with what I have
though.
Sometimes, I want to use another offered pallate by an artist but I feel like that's sort of.. uncreative in a way. I was wondering if you felt the same way or felt that pallates have nothing to do with creativity. Thoughts? (p.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Didn't really think it was a Resources/Support issue...) Edited by Aleiav |

Palletes, like colors are not private property. Inspiration can come
from ANY source whatsoever. Often a palette alone can inspire. Now go
add some color to that monotone room of your.

I go for bold colors, but try to keep the saturation down all the time
(around 100 for the base color) unless it's a certain surface or
lighting that requires any different. I stick to what colors I know, it
seems. Tealish blues, bold reds, and greens that hover around an olive
color. Shadows generally make the hue of the color they're covering go
towards a blue, since atmosphere is blue and with outdoors, sunlight
(probably including the light reflected from the moon too, it'd make
sense because the moon really has no reason to change the hue and night
is fairly blue...) is actually blue. Although indoor light is most
often a tint of orange and I really don't know what color it would make
the midtone turn into, so I just ballpark it.
Now I'm just rambling... |
