Message

Hello pixel artist of all shapes and sizes. 

My name is Michael and I am a video game programmer. I am currently in college majoring in computer science so I do not own a company of any sort. For programming, I am currently using a program called Game Maker. 

Until I have completed/learned C++/Java, I will continue attempting at making games. I do not have any games to present to you as this will be my first finished product if I can find a team. However, I am currently only looking for one pixel artist at the moment.

The competition I am trying to enter is a YoYo games and Steam competition. The link to the competition rules are here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/214850/discussions/1/864948030092403600/

The prize money is $1000 dollars which will be split between team members. This will be the only form of pay I can present to you. That being said if we lose, then you will unfortunately receive no pay. However, please don't let this discourage you from joining me.

EDIT: To clarify what genre I am planning to make, it is a Top-Down based game.

	Please excuse the double post but I recently pondered over the fact that this whole service may seem risky. I am definitely not here to steal anyone's work in taken credit from all of their hard work. Maybe, if someone is interested, we can negotiate on some sort of trust you and I can have between each other. I really hope to hear back from someone concerning this competition, and maybe if I am unable to attend this competition, then someone will assist me in the next one in November or December I believe. Thanks for reading.

	you're aware that this is no casino, and for the most part "taking a risk" isnt exactly what one would expect when it comes to payment, right? you already made your offer, wich i'd rather say is quite bad - and i'd rather encourage anyone who's time is actually worth to not take part of it- since its not only based on the artist's skill to get said payment, but also it relies on your skill as a programmer and also relies on the judges's decision. seeing the grand prize for this is $1k, i'd rather have you take the risk and instead invest in hiring someone to help you work on your project. that way you both ensure you will get some quality work to backup your skills. that is, if your skills are up to the point of being a posible winner at this contest. otherwise, risk of not getting paid > actual payment.

There will always be a risk in 'applying' for a job on an online forum. You may not know who the person is you are joining and you surely wouldn't know if you'd actually get paid. The outcome of the project/task is based on the work everyone did and that will be the leading factor to everyone getting paid. For example, a fast food restaurant. No one working on the cash register but someone is cooking the food = No Profit. Someone is working the cash register but no one is cooking the food = No Profit. In order to get paid both jobs must be fulfilled and done efficiently. If this is not how members working at a restaurant get paid then forgive me for this false argument. No. You get paid for turning up and doing your job, its the managers responsibility to make sure everyone is there and they do that by paying you. If I worked in a resturant that refused to pay me because the guy working the cash register didn't show up, I wouldn't work there long. How many people do you know that work at McDonalds that get paid a percentage of their profits? Or only get paid if they win a 'Takeout of the month' competition? Profit share in any sense of the word is not a [PAID] job. The only time you can use that term is if some one has done a job and you pay them a fixed agreed amount.
