I've been trying pixel art and haven't been very productive. I have extreme trouble with lineart, and I suck at texturing. My colors are really odd and my anatomy's bad. I don't really have a style. I do know that I like colors blending; I like AA a lot and don't really like dithering.
Does anyone know any good tutorials for AA, lineart, shading? |

Your problem doesn't lie with pixel art, but with the foundations of art. If I were you I wouldn't worry about the pixel-specific techniques, and focus on drawing with pencil and paper, as it presents less obstacles. If your anatomy is bad, study anatomy (Figure Drawing For All It's Worth, Drawing the Head and Hands). Study lighting by drawing from life (such as a still life lit with a lamp, or whatever is in your front yard, or the corner of your room, or your face in the mirror). For information on anti-aliasing, check The Pixel Art Tutorial located in this subforum. Lineart is a matter of learning contour lines, and is best done by doing lots of contour line drawings (using pencil and paper, and a photographic or real-life reference).
