Pixel Joint Forum: Game character and tree

Message

   Hey guys, this is my first post!  As the title suggests I've made 2 pieces that will hopefully be used for a friends game.  To my untrained eye I feel that they are finished, but anything input that can help me improve on them would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

	the shape of the tree is interesting and unique, I like it. I cant quite tell if the character is supposed to be side view, or iso view. If its supposed to be iso, then the tree is out of perspective. I think the tree trunk could use bolder shading on it. quick edit:

	Thank you for the feedback guys, I'm going to add some contrast to the tree momentarily. The guy was just a mock up, I was building the character off of a friends design from a different game, Volund. With their game the characters move on an 8 axis system, so this would be the southeast direction. In my friends game the character moves on 4 axis, so I'll have to start from scratch on the design. When I logged in I was really worried my character was going to be off in some horrible way anatomically, so I'm happy it wasn't too far off base. I've never done character design before, as this is my first art project. :)
