Hello all,
Team Background A couple friends and I have been working on a Flash game as a side project/hobby just to have the experience of making a game. Unfortunately for us, we are all technical, and none of us have much graphical artistic talent. We've made due with creating our own graphics and exporting 3D models to sprites, but at this point we need more. The game has progressed to the point we are left with polish and playtesting, but the graphics don't do justice to the level of quality we have and will continue to put into the rest of the game. So, with that as an introduction, we are willing to pay, but we're hoping for someone flexible. The Game Zompart is an action arcade style game where you use player controlled cannons to defend a safehouse from zombies. It is not at all a tower-defense, though it visually would be most comparable to that genre. Artistically we would be happy to adopt any theme that made sense with zombies attacking walls and a central "safehouse" structure. There is a lot of room for the artist to decide what the game looks like. We currently have a style imposed by our own limitations, and have ideas for how that could be improved, but we're open to anything. Assets Needed Screenshot of current gameplay art 4 - 32x32px zombies with 8 walk directions and 4 directions for attack animations 1 - 32x32 Fleeing survivor 4 - 48x48 tower types, cannon towers with ~16 directions 4 800x600 environment backgrounds 10-20 variable size environmental props 3 wall types with 15 directions and 4 damage levels Plus other possible minor things like blood splatters and projectiles. These would have few frames. Maybe: UI elements. It needs to be done, it is just a matter of whether it is financially feasible for us. The priority is the gameplay assets. It seems like a lot, but part of that is that we don't know the processes for pixel asset creation. I am assuming the art for the towers could be recolors and/or minor variations of a central design. Same for the zombies. We really need someone capable of looking at the game and telling us what the most efficient method of getting something good looking that fulfills our needs would be. Pay and Compensation What we've currently agreed is the best route is revenue sharing based on the Flash Game License sponsorship. We would also discuss a minimum payment amount with the artist to make sure they are compensated regardless of how much the game was licensed for. We're doing this for fun, and we'd like to do it as cheaply as possible, but we realize whoever joins us may have other needs. We're willing to go quite far in revenue sharing to get someone talented, as we have no expectation to make money off this. We're just trying not to go in debt doing it. Contact and Additional Details I can be reached at [yutt][at][zompart][dot][com]. I would be happy to give further details, provide samples of our existing assets, and to discuss payment terms. And even to link an existing build of the game. Thanks! -yutt Edited by yutt - 07 February 2013 at 3:40pm |
