Hello,
I'm currently drawing some icons for my RPG work, and I was curious, since my approach is not the one of a pixelartist, but more of a draftsman, how much time a pixelartist needs to the same task with his workflow? Let's say 100 icons (to make a more statistical base, because in my case some are a breeze, some are not) of rpg items, no matter the setting, 25 px maximum area. I cannot be sure of the time I need to, as I don't work on it 8 hours a day, but I suspect my workflow could have been better if I thought beforehand I needed to have flat areas at some point, to avoid unwanted transparencies. so far, I'm 4 days of design in, having done 256 icons of 100px to be reduced to 25px after color is done, but I have not yet start to paint them. In the test I did I liked the results, but the workflow, as I said, needs to be improved, for future reference. Can you give me a figure of the time you would need instead for the 25px icons? Thank you! |
