There has been a few noticable ones in the couple of years..

- Bell Mobility (or Solo Mobility in the UK) - these ads rock my world

- Habbo Hotel has an ad on TV right now

- The Canadian movie "Nothing" has a great intro using some simple pixel animations

have you guys seen any others out there?

The closest thing to pixel art I've seen is that White Stripes video "Fell in Love with a Girl".  I think it's legos or something. I'd love to see pixel art hit more mainstream as an animation style.

Yeah, that White Stripes video is awesome! Great song as well.

However, I am aware of two other music videos that employ real pixel art. Both bands have pretty sweet websites, and you can check the music clips out and everything:

'Juinor Senior: Move Your Feet' This song got pretty popular, and the pixel animations were pretty cool to see in mainstream, however, they arent REALLY that fancy:  http://www.juniorsenior.com/media.htm

'Architecture in Helsinki: Do the Whirl Wind' An australian band, they us a lot of strange noises and instruments, but I really dig them. Click on the 'Video' section, and play the 'Do the Whirl Wind' song. Might take a couple of listens if you havent heard them before -or you could just watch the pretty pixel clip! (the song 'Like a Call' also has a pretty neat flash looking clip, aswell): http://www.architectureinhelsinki.com/

Both are definately worth any pixel art fan's look!

Wow, that 'Move Your Feet' vid is the sh*t.  I like the more simple pixel art style.  They break it down to the essence of an object.

So that 'Do the Whirl Wind' is pixel art... I can't tell. It's an amazing piece of work regardless.

The 'Do the Whirl Wind' is definately pixel art. Its easy to tell from the start, but the resolution and quality make it a little harder to make out when it zooms out. It sort of reminds me of more japanese-ish GBA artwork, whilst the 'Move Your Feet' is a really breakdown as far as colours go. Both are awesome clips, and not bad songs!

Ah yes, I was also gonna mention Move Your Feet from Junior Senior, I love the song and video
Do the Whirl Wind looks pretty cool too, but since Flash is often really slow on my computer, I couldn't really watch the video... only at an uber-low framerate.
So I'm gonna watch/listen it on my dad's PC now.

diggy duggy dug.

Only pixel art I have seen in TV was a commercial of habbo-like chatroom (estonian), only thing was that it wasn't entirely pixel-art and it was plain ugly.

Have you ever heard about a belgium group named TELEX ? It's not exactly TV nor film, it's a music video.

Here it is : http://www.telex-music.com/video.html

For french readers : I've found this link on pixelbot's blog : http://pixelbot.stefdem.com/blog.php

I recall seeing a pixelart commercial in which a giant squid picked up and shook a large cruiseliner.  Anyone know where that's from?

only thing I could think of is the yahoo video ads.. not really tv or film, but still, it's pixelart!

edit: cure i didnt see your post, I think we're talking about the same thing.  There was one ad w/  some rapper on a boat and some bikini chicks and then the squid swallows up the entire thing and then you cant hear the rapper so he spits him back out.  Is that the one?

@Tinc and leel :

Your talking about minipops, a Yahoo music promo usually played on MTV/VH1 i think.

And obviously Craig Robinson has something to do with it lol.

What about this video from ShakeDown - Love Game  ?

Pretty hot ...

The thing is I'm not totally sure (due to youtube video quality) it's 100% pixelled, but only isometric like the Royksopp video of Remind Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBvaHZIrt0o) which is closer to vectorArt than pixelArt ...

Everyone should know about Paul Robertson (which is a total genious ...). snader mentioned his famous video Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006, but did you know about Devil Eyes ?
