This is my first attempt at pixel art:

Stone Sprite:


I used 5 colors I think.

I must note that I know how shading goes IRL and that I do other types of texturing on daily basis rather than pixel art.

Criticism is very appreciated.

I can recognize maximum 3 colors here and you have 6 colors + transparency. That's because colors are too similar and there's lack of contrast. Shading in pixel art is different than in classic digital art where you can just use blend tools, here you should try to avoid using similar colors cause they make things look blurry.

I think I should make the bright color brighter.

@DawnBringer I'm not sure if i can use that tut. I am trying to make stone that points upwards and is/looks sharp, something like stalagmites.

I agree that there should be more contrast between the different tones in your stalagmite.
