Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the forum (first topic whoot I'm honestly just looking for someone to tell me everything wrong with my sprite so I can learn because I've been dying to improve my skills so I can start animating this guy. Any help at all though would be much appreciated thanks!
Oh yeah and just a heads up, I'm new to the whole forum thing so I hope I used the tags right (WIP = WorkinProgress & C+C = Comments and Critique?) thanks again! |

The character's head is too small for their body, and the arms are too long (or perhaps they just start too low and thus end up too low?). I think fixing those issues should help you with the shoulders too.
Your colours aren't awful, but they are rather dull. Do you have a particular look or feeling that you're going for with this game and character? I think the dark pockets on the pants are an unnecessary detail. They read like (poorly placed) shadows, and they don't really contribute to the design in my opinion. With small sprites, you should have only those shapes you need to best convey the character's basic design and motion, anything else just leads to more difficult pixelling and confusion for the viewer. |
