Wazzup!

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the mechanic of swinging a rope... so some help/insight would be nice (that other criticism is welcome of course).

Merci! Thanks!

The main part of the body could use more movement, so that it looks as though the arms aren't just flailing along as the toaster moves.

Yeah, the body would have to start swaying before any horizontal movement was generated.

Hanging straight down from a rope would take a lot of body movement or a fairly long time to generate motion.

Really interested to see more though.

For those who are wondering, this is how it looks like in-game:

As a follow up, since the grapple is coming from one corner of the toaster, you'll probably want the little guy to lean to one side. Unless there is some gyroscopic mumbo jumbo going on, of course.

It might help to think about a child's swing. To get it going someone swings their legs forward and pulls them back. The kid is acting like a moving weight that gets the swing going. The line remains pretty taut but there is a lot of motion and rotation in the weight attached to the line. If any slack was in the line the bend would probably be at the bottom instead of the top. If you go too high on a swing you kinda fall and jerk back into your downward swing (because the pull of gravity on the line is lessened when you are horizontal). Not sure if any of this is helpful but whatevs.
