Hey guys! I'm Jesse, a junior majoring in game development at the University of Southern California. I'm currently working on a 2D local multiplayer game called ZENMODE as a semester-long project, and I'm looking for a spriter to help us out.
Game Summary: ZENMODE is a four-player local multiplayer action game starring four monk-ninjas in a race against each other to reach nirvana and attain true enlightenment. Players fill up their 'zen meter' by stepping into bubbles of energy that float across the map. They can use swords and throwing knives to deter other opponents, or kill them and lower their zen. The first player to fill up their zen meter completely wins. Project Goals & Scope: - Because we're a student project, our game has a hard deadline of May 15, 2015. This should be a short commitment. - Once the semester is over, we're looking to submit the game to IndieCade, an independent games festival in LA. - We intend to ship the game for free. We plan to release on PC and Mac at first, but additional platforms such as Xbox and PS4 aren't out of the question at all (we're using Unity for development). Why you should join us: - Our game is backed by USC Games, the #1 game development program in the US. You can be confident that your work on this project will be useful and appreciated, because we definitely intend to deliver this game. - Our mentor for this project is Richard Lemarchand, the lead game designer for all three Uncharted games. We're working closely with him and learning as much as we can to fine-tune our gameplay. - We're a highly experienced team of programmers, having held previous internships at places like Facebook and Arkadium. Collectively we've shipped over a dozen games. Check out my portfolio website. What we're looking for: We're looking for tilesets and backgrounds that fit a pixel style similar to something like Towerfall or Samurai Gunn. Players and tilesets are 16x16 in size and then scaled up 2x. Check out a video of the current build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruy4Y8OUWMI Settings would include peaceful, secluded places like lush forests, snowy mountaintops, ancient temples. Play the current demo Note that this is a really, really barebones demo that represents about three weeks of work. It supports two players using WASD or the arrow keys (Xbox controllers are also supported). Press up to jump / walljump. Press down to attack other players. If you press the attack button in the air, you can perform a ground pound. Download for Windows Download for Mac Thank you so much guys! I look forward to working with you. √ Edited by jchand - 07 April 2015 at 5:39pm |
