Hey, I'm working on a personal project that showcases the strengths of Squeak Etoys, a development front end for Smalltalk that basically is 'sane programming'...i.e. it's not tabs/spaces oriented nor is it geared towards doing something like God oF War III or anything, but it's pretty flexible and super quick to build prototypes for some kinds of games (any game, really, but as it gets more graphically intense you have to deal with no-GPU/all interpreted bytecode VM limitations...flexibility with limits, basicallY).
The first 'issue' (it's a bit like a classic diskmag, but there's also a pdf/print element that will accompany each release, assuming I can get past the first one!) takes on the look of a PC98 style RPG, but is really just a framing for a bunch of game-related demos showing some ways to get certain effects out of Etoys using nothing but etoys itself (all of the graphics are Etoys, even the pixel art stuff, which will also include a pixel-art editor made within etoys itself as part of hte final release)...
