Trying out some new pixel art for a horror RPG. I just made made this enemy and the background.
![]() I think the enemy looks good but any tips are welcome. I hate making backgrounds but it looks decent enough. I just changed the colors and added darkness from the original. I might need to reconsider this darkening method. Here is the original, undarkened. ![]() |

It does look better darkened, but the gradual darkening doesn't line up too well where the wall and ceiling meet, especially on the top left corner. I feel like the highlights on the framed pictures need to be toned down, when not being exposed to that much light. The text is kind of hard to read, and maybe the status bars could use more contrast. The ceiling tiles look like more depth could be added to them. It's very good otherwise. I like the monsters.

The darker background is so much cooler, but try to work on how the shadows go to light more soft.
Also try with a more darker palette to the text and bars in down part. |
