Hi there,

As suggested by Imagician for the last pixel I made (called Glenda : http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/13369.htm), I tried to animate a flying plane crossing the sky behind the main character ...
I kept the background and added the plane without details and without AAing first to have some crits and comments in order to improve it. Here is the WIP :

I tried to change the sky shades while the plane was in front of the sunset, but the result was ... weak.
I thought I could make the backgroud grass move wildly for at least 5 frames.

Thank you.

Looks very nice! I was just thinking, sometimes a strong lightsource can produce a lensflare and when an object moves in front of the lightsource, the flare shrinks temporarily. I first noticed this on the lights in Timesplitters 2. Here's a rough example:

I just thought perhaps this might be an idea you might like to try out.

With that aside, I think perhaps the trail from the plane should be orange/yellowish, because when the sun is rising/setting, everything it shines on recieves very warm colours. This looks good though, nice work.

As you suggested Lawrence, I changed the color of the trail into some orange/brownish which was a good idea. I also sharpened the plane and add some AA.

As for the optical lens effect, I tried to apply your first suggestion which is a great idea, but I'm not sure I've done it right. I reduced lightly the plane when flying in front of the sun and added a global lens effect (which was pain is the ... to render) ...

What's your opinion ? Feel free to comment it please.

Well, sorry Lawrence but I couldn't render the effect you suggested ... Anyway concerning the shrink effect, it couldn't be seen with the main character in the foreground ...

Well I finished to build up the animation file by adding hair waving, eye blinking, background fields disturbing, arm bleeding. The result is a 47 frames animation of constant 27 colors palette ...

Looks incredibly good, slightly unreal, but it give it that mysterious edge.

Her legs and clothes seem a bit over dithered.
