Be gentle

at least I know I need guidance.

I love how she is coming out so far but I can't help but think she could be prettier.

This will eventually be my sites layout and I am really happy with how it has come out thus far.

http://imagehost.ensellitis.com/imagesv2/6572700421layoutup.gif

Ignore the metal unless you can make my hands work ><

she is supposed to be kinda seductive and slightly in a trance.

Edit her other hand will be holding hair....I just haven't gotten that far yet

It isreally nice overall. I think the chest and stomach look like they are being pushed in from the sides for some reason, also there are some minor bends in the scrollwork. Looks great and nice colors.

Hi there. Very nice start with this! But it looks to me like she is missing her right shoulder. Also she doesn't seem to have any hips. I think her left elbow needs to be more pronounced, also.

Her torso seems really long compared to the size of her breasts. I don't think they need to be fuller, but I'd make the attachment area on the chest a little longer, maybe by three or four pixels.

I'd bring her navel up a couple of pixels and give her more of a waist - she's very straight and cylindrical right now - I think a slightly more hour glass shape would make her look more feminine and natural, women's bodies are all about curves.

I agree with Fool's changes to the position of the shoulders and arms. Her left hand is almost touching the back of her head, and when your arm is raised like that, your elbow naturally wants to point more forwards. (I'm assuming you want to keep her looking fairly relaxed and natural.) If you keep her hand positioned relative to her head the waay you have drawn it now, you need to add a bend to her wrist and bring her elbow up a lot higher, and that pose just doesn't seem consistent with the overall feel of this piece. The only way to keep the hand on the head wwith the fingers pointing up and the wrist straight is to swing the elbow well forward so that it points in teh same general direction as the torso, somewhere between 60 - 120 degrees (really rough estimate) from the body.

I think if you filled out her right shoulder and spent some time visualizing the tendons in her neck and her collarbones (even if you don't give them sharp definition when you shade that area, keeping the anatomy in mind would help this area of the piece immensely.) The area around her neck and shoulders has a vaguely rubbery look to it at the moment.

Her right hand seems to be lacking substance... even if you view a hand from the side, you will still see at least three of the fingers, and the area where the thumb attaches will have a significant bulge. If you're viewing the hand more from the back then I think the fingers still need some added visibility, and the back of the hand should be wider.

Her right eye seems to buldge away from her skull a little too much. Our eyes are recessed slightly, in a dip created by our cheek bones, nose and brow. I'd either hide this eye behind the nose a little more, and move it away from thte edge of the face, or accentuate her brow and cheekebones a bit so that she has stronger bone structure instead of a smooth, rounded forehead to cheek profile, though this may make her look less feminine if you don't keep teh change subtle.

Sorry, that was all rather rambling... I hope it made sense and that you found it helpful.

The body looks perfectly fine.
I think you should try to add a more female facial structure.
Right now it looks a little chubby compaired to the new body.
Also the perspective of the head should change a bit to match the body as well.

Body looks quite good in the scetch.=) And yes, you've picked tricky face position on first try for the drawning.=)
Most imporatant I guess to figure out where you going with that pose and the best solution - find some reference photos to give that pose kinematically natural feel.

I've tried to fix a face, but again proof myself a failer.=) Still will post an edit - it might give you some ideas. (do not laugh at me, i'm pretty old for the dolling=))

Fool once again you are too helpful. XD
I really like that face/eye positioning because once I add her back into to the layout she will be looking at the content which will hopefully draw viewers gazes

I will play with that positioning and see if I can make it work :D  ((i want to use my own work with others suggestions))

I need sleep at the moment...I spent most of today trying to conceptualize all over again and it frieded my brain (knows she spelled that wrong)

Here is a head positioning edit I made...which one is better...I like both ><

Well, thats exectly my way of doing things and trust me - the fastest way to get lost.
You need to maintain  overall composition first to figure out where are you going with this. What she's going to do? Touching her hair? No problem, get some hair flow etc. Scetch as many objects as you want on final picture - eventually they all be connected and one way or another affect each other. This way you could determine which position of what serves you the best.=)

I really don't have a problem with the general facial structure, aside fromm the points I addressed above, which you seem to have fixed. I think she's quite feminine and youthful looking.

The body sketch looks much better. The raised thigh seems a little odd. The curve from the top of the knee to the hip should be fairly smooth, with the S-shape on the underside of the leg.

Obviusly you've nly roughed in the feet on the sketch, I'm assuming because you've got them covered in your initial concept. I think it'd be really great if you kept one foot visible and fully developed it. While having the feet covered doesn't look bad, it's so often done just to avoid drawing them. I think it'd be fabulous if you took it an extra step by unhiding the feet.

I have almost finished cleaning up the lines.....I have had a bit of a rough week (final database projects for school and tests)

I think she looks much better...what do y'all think?

the head took the most time to get right...I had to print the body out and draw the head on paper to get a shape I liked

I will work on the leg now Anlina :D

playing with some hair

I like the unnatural flowy way it is XD

wow much imporoved i like the new face i think her left leg should make a fold in the cloth to define it more this way it looks a bit funky kinda too straight but if you fold the cloth at the other contour of the leg it'll look better imo

The new version looks awesome! The face looks perfect in my opinion now :)

I liked how you made the robes in the original ver, but i find that they would add more flow to the character if there were less folds, and straighter.

...annndd.... nope, body looks perfect :) though I think the breasts are still too close.

just pretend the metal bra does that XD

The folds are subject to change. I will take that into consideration :D

I think if the metal bra clings to the skin enough to make the boobs go higher there's going to be some protrusion of the breasts, even slight. I think it'd be more realistic to shade accordingly with that in mind.

i'm not understanding why you put 1 purple shade in there, it doesnt fit in a ''normal'' ramp, and the rest is too linear to be huesthiftplay
same(though a lesser degree) with the green on the boobies

Hello thar. A very quick colour edit for you.

All i basically did was to contrast the ramps a little more (mainly the skin). You have a fair amount in each, and so they are used effectively i think you could space the gap between a little more. You'll see the detail of her form is more apparent when her skin is more contrasted, as before i found it was fairly dull against the brightness of her hair.

Just thought i'd point this out. The palette i used could easily be worked upon, probably the mid-colours of her skin mainly.

This is coming along very well, remember when dithering and shading to make use of all the colours you have (eg don't skip a colour too much unless it's really needed). Keep it up!

You are doing good, Cryssy.=)
The only two things I would suggest (perhaps, it is all up to you=) - to fix lineart for the legs and the way shading applied on the round objects.
Here is quick edits just to make a point: as for the legs i think it is all about curves that makes things interesting.

I agree with the round object shading. I will fix that immediately but I don't know if it is in my scope to redo the legs entirely and I enjoyed the elegance of motion with my version but I am in no way saying my version is better ^^;; but your foot edit is awesome so I will try to fix that and see where it goes :D

I will try to make an edit to the bottom leg because it should be out a little further I agree

You're gonna hate me...=))

I would also breake that nearly straight line on clothing over the left leg.=)
Of course it is not completely nessesary - just two lines go in parallel make the leg a part of the cloth flow, only pink. Well, it's up to you again.=)

And check that lines of the leg undernith of cloth - it looks a bit off place and visually won't coonecting it to the torso correctly.

Oh no, I agree with your suggestions completely. I just want that feeling of  accomplishment when I work on a piece and finish it with all my own work. That enriched feeling that "I did it!"

Edit. After further evaluation. I am going to finish her as is, I have to have her done too soon to make such a huge change. I agree her leg isn't connecting well so what I will do is add her finished to my site the continue to work on her and correct those issues then submit her to PJ

I will rework a few things after completion
