Yar. The original, was just a shaded version of one of Fossils linearts. At Pixeltendo i posted the original and some guy named Betatronic gave me some made crits and made his own tree making me look bad so I went off and remade the tree. With some Crits from Betatronic and Blick, I got this far.

Now, I'm completely dead on how to shade the leaves.

I would think the grass on the roots is telling you what kind of leaves to make. 4 shades times 2. Thats one ramp for highlight leaves one darker ramp (that shares colors) for the leaves farther back.

I'm loving the shading on the trunk so far! Although the light source is a bit unclear. I think you should give the branch that's the furthest to the left a bit more shadow to give the tree more of a 3d aspect, if you know what I mean. I also like the grass :)
