What i am wondering is if there are any tutorials out there for making final fantasy 3 like characters? Like maybe a tutorial on the anatomy or something of the sort.  Basicly what i am looking for is something to give me a jump start on the whole process.

I'd advise you not to do this.
 
But anyway, it's probably best to analyse current Final Fantasy 3 characters. Their size, colours, positioning of detail... (I have no idea what they look like, so apologies for sounding silly).

Personally i'd say don't try to make things similar to another persons style, study art fundementals, pixel fundementals, and create your own style.
 
However, i've heard from some people that starting in pixel art with edits and stuff is good, so meh.

He suggested analyzing (he spelled it with an 's', he must be high on tea) FF3 sprites; look at the little tefchniques they use and the things common to the sprites that define them. Mess around. Try all kinds of stuff. The true artistic genius learns from observing the world, not from someone who tells him how to do everything.
