Hello. I am currently developing an action-RPG in the vein of Secret of Mana for the PC (built with Game Maker 6), called Alcarys Complex. This game is in early beta status ramping up to a demonstration release at the end of April. What I'm requesting is a sprite artist/animator - someone who can make the sprites and animate them - to stay either the entire development time of the project (the game, if released on schedule, will be released in fall 2007), or as long as possible (longer is better, here.) You will need a firm grasp of animation especially, for you will be making any attacks based off the sprites (such as a sword swipe or the firing of a projectile.) For characters, you will be working off descriptions, not concept art, though you will be paid extra for any concept art you may produce.
A synopsis and screens can be found here. Keep in mind these are early screens and the layout of certain things is likely to change. The general graphical style of the game is cartoonish and colorful, in contrast to the shady political, religious, and racial dealings that are taking place. There are no previous projects to base our skill off of, but I assure you progress is moving quite smoothly. I'm working with about a $1500 budget right now that only stands to rise, and there are currently three people (a music composer, an environmental artist, and a sound designer) in my employ. The general style of payment is commission-based, piecemeal (actual dollar amount depends on the scope of the commission; an entire spriteset would earn you a whole lot more than a single sprite), and requires a PayPal account. If you join the project you will be able to do plenty, and you should never be stuck with nothing to do. Please post only if you do not take issue with signing a non-disclosure agreement. You can contact me at john[at]alcaryscomplex[dot]com, you may leave me a private message, or you may post in this topic. All I ask is that you provide a portfolio of your pixel work, whether external, or mailed to me. Thanks for reading, and thanks for your time. Edited by Pasty - 12 February 2007 at 9:29pm |
