Hey Guys, I decided im gonna try and make something new after a very long break from pixel art (No Insperation)
![]() This is what i have so far, Im not happy with the pathway but i am getting a bit more pleased with the road, ignore the buildings that are gonna be on the side lol, just thepathways i need help with, oh by the way ive only just started the road, im most likely going too add more detail to it |

I would make the pathways smaller and make their color lighter (assuming they are concrete). Currently the path ways are each almost (if not) as big as one lane of the road.

I agree with cdsboy and pathways usually aren't the same level as the road, they're a bit thicker.

Right i have made the pathways a bit smaller, look more realistic now? and nevermind the colour, I will change that later, just trying to make the proportions right

Currently the path ways are each almost (if not) as big as one lane of the road. i agree, but most of the times the paths on the sides of a road are higher than the road itself... so, if you make that the road will more look like a road, also add cracks in the tiles and grass between them for some more realism... (i know its in an early stage for that, but it might be some good inspiration)? |

yup, raise the sidewalk by 2 pixels. Have the yellow line be a darker grey/yellow close to the horizon since you really can't use perspective on it without making a mess of things (not you, just generally).

great, now its time to change the black outlining on the sidewailks to a very dark grey and add some edge highlighting with a light grey (not too light).
