Pixel Joint Forum: Meet and Greet

   Just thought I'd kick this off by saying hello to all you wonderful pixel peeps out there. 
I live in Woodland Hills, California, USA (Los Angeles county) with my girl friend and I've worked as a software developer for the past five years. Before that I lived in Oregon, Maine, Georgia, Wyoming and Michigan and I have fond memories of each place.
I'm older than a lot of pixel pushers out there me thinks, but I've only been pixel pushing the last year or so.  I started the Pixel Joint because I thought it would be cool to have a pixel art only gallery site.  It's only been a few months since we started taking in submissions and I think it's been going great.  There's so many talented pixel artists out there and I'm always excited when I see a new piece come in.  
I guess that's it. I hope you all enjoy the Pixel Joint community and have a good time getting to know other pixel artists.

	Hi, My name is Kel and I'm a huge pixel art fan. I didn't have a computer until two years ago but I've always been a videogame freak and I used to draw the Nintendo and Sega characters on pause. Metroid, Megaman, Mario and Sonic were a few of my favorite subjects. I studied art history in college and I was looking for an art project to help with and Pixel Joint just kind of fell in my lap. Good news for you people. I love swimming, softball, peanutbutter and Al Pacino movies. My favorite videogames of all time are Rampart (trackball arcade game), Megaman games, Street Fighter 2, Chrono Trigger and Super Mario Brothers 3. Bye

	Hello all, My name is Brian (you probably already guessed) and I live in the Netherlands. That's in western-Europe, I made a crappy map to show. Yeah, that's a pretty accurate guess. Anyway, I started Pixelart because I got in the amateur-games-community. I really enjoy making games and all the stuff around it. I'm also going to a special school for making games in Hilversum, about Game Design And Development. "When I grow up, I'm going to make games." Me just being 15 makes me feel a bit too young. Oh well. Here's a photo. That's probably how I'm sitting right now. I always sit like that. Well, that's about it. Oh wait, I have something left to say. Things I like: Super Mario, my computer, GTA, Age Of Mythology (although I always lose in multiplayer), Saria's Song, this music, retro and my GameCube. Things I hate: Microsoft, Xbox, Halo, Halo 2, additions of the Sims, mobile phones, pop-ups, etc. Im not crazy, I'm a bit eccentric (if that is how you write it, word told me) That sums it up. 	Nice meeting you all! My name is Ivan. I'm 16 years old and studying my final year of high school in Australia. Ive been involved in game making since I was eleven, and I really started to get into pixelling over the last two years or so. I'm also an active member at Klik based game making website, the Daily Click ( www.create-games.com ). My only ever employment has been selling some of my paintings (WHAT A BARGAIN, I THINK WE SHOULD ALL BUY THEM!) and selling my comic book at school (which is illegal). Check out my comic here, if you havent already: www.jonnycomics.com/blackhole Im interested in getting into the animation business when I leave. But I no practical idea how Id do this. I also play the piano, listening to music and enjoy writing songs (and singing...poorly). In true animating fashion I decided to make a montage of ME for YOU: I really like Pixel Joint's unique interface and friendly community. I especially like that Sedge will comment positively on ANYTHING! Well done mate! UPDATE!: Oooh, almost forgot! My favourite tv shows are: The Office, Spaced, 15 Stories High, Frontline, OLDER Simpsons, Seinfeld, Mission Hill and others I cant think of right now. I like movies aswell, but it would be even harder for me to compose a list of favourites. I've also done a bit of radio play writing myself. AND I enjoy doing impressions. Ahem. 	the_keller: You left off your crazy obsession with MAME. You never shut up about crappy arcade games from 1981. Brian the Great: Thx for the map. I always assumed The Netherlands was down by Mexico. Seriously... a pixel map would be a neat project someday. Halo was a bust for me too. The PC has about a zillion better First Person Shooters but everyone seems to think Halo is the end all. iSTVAN: Nice David Brent. I too am a huge OLDER Simpsons fan. 	Crap I'm feeling old... I'll be 29 this year :( blah anyways.. I posted this in another thread somewhere before noticing a thread had already been started.. I'm a retard but here's what I wrote: Congrats to getting the forum up and running. We can all finally get to know eachother beyond our submissions and handles. It's great to have a new home for pixellists and I can safely say that I will be posting my works here as long as pixelart intrigues me. That aside, I think we should all perhpas introduce ourselves to the community and tell our lil pixel story in brief. Me: I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Been pixelling for about 2 years now and posting that and other forms of digital art on DeviantArt for over 3 I think. Pixelart has become a great obssesion for me because of it's crisp and clean styles as well and the animation styles you can do with it. I plan to continue posting new icons - desktop and otherwise - as well as screensavers, wallpapers, and in the future maybe some games and short movies I'd like to officially welcome everyone to PixelJoint and it's new forum and I look forward to seeing it's growth. How's that for a speech? :) Keep on pixelling... biatches!
