I'm looking to make a movie in the near future.  It's nothing fancy technically speaking.  Just myself, my brother, and some of our friends.  But since it is scifi, there are some things that may be a bit more difficult to do (i.e. a space battle).  SO I have turned to pixel art, and I was wondering if it is possible to make "pixel animation" so to speak, save it in some video format, and edit it with a video editing program for scene that won't need "real life" scenes.  In any case, I am just browsing my options, so I thought I would come here and ask this somewhat bizarre question.  Thanks to anyone who can be of assistance.
