So, I'm now trying to animate my sprites...and I came across a few questions. I have noticed that in a few tutorials on pixel character animation (i.e. http://usuarios.lycos.es/cardgallery/tut.htm step 5), people have blocked in solid bright colors on the arms, legs, and body. I understand that this is to fascilitate animation, but could someone please explain to me how? Thanks

I know it's not an animation tutorial, what I mean is how does that help with animation? My theory was just that perhaps it makes things easier cause all you have to do is draw the shape instead of shading and lighting, etc, but, meh, I guess it doesn't matter, I'll just practice my own methods

Well the idea behind the color distinctions is to help you visualize as you make each frame. It a guide only.
