We have some new vacancies for 2d pixel artists to work on a variety of different online (web) games. To see examples of the sort of work we do take a look at our website: www.nitrome.com

Nitrome is a fun and creative place to work.... have you always dreamed of making games? If so this is the job for you!

The positions are in-house roles and our office is in Central London close to Old Street tube station.

Candidates need to be able to demonstrate an ability to create animated sprites and tiles. As you will be working in a small team, all team members get to have creative input into the games we make. Knowledge of Flash (basic timeline tweening etc..) would be a bonus but not essential.

Salary 18k - 30k per annum dependant on examples and experience.

If you are interested in applying for the role(s) then please send a CV and examples of your work (links to work is fine) to jobs@nitrome.com

I played a few of your games and really enjoyed them. The engines were slightly clunky, and graphics not necessarily my style, but I really loved the originality of your concepts. Your managed to create several really fun arcade games!

If I lived in London I'd want to work for you!

Is there any help regarding relocation?
I've had my eye on your games for some time.

Ilkke, Mykola, Jalons - all your work is very good and I would deffinetly concider all of you if you had been in London. I'm not sure what assistance we could offer in relocation though as we weren't really considering that anyone would want to relocate that far just to work for us :)

What sort of assitence would you be after? (probably best if you email me if you want to talk about it more)

I take back what I said about the engines being clunky and the graphics not my style. I've finished several of your games, and I'm really very impressed.

My congratulations go out to whoever gets a job with you. As far as I'm converned, it would be the pixel dream job!

If you're ever in the need of a freelance pixel artist, even just for minor projects, I'd be very interested.

Generally, when people are lookingto relocate for a job, they just need a little help in getting there.  For larger companies, they'll be looking for airfare, lodging and such, but for smaller studios there are a couple of things that you can do to make the transition easier.

First, and probably most important, you should help them with any entry and immigration paperwork they have to deal with.  I have two friends who got denied entry to the UK and put right back on their plane (just two weeks ago) when they showed up with resumes in their luggage.  Also, doing some searching for a temporary flat, and acting as a reference would probably help greatly for any potential candidates.  I think this would open up your search significantly, and probably net you a great artist in no time. :)
