Pixel Joint Forum: Looking for servos

Message

   I need 12 servos.

The need to have a clockwise movement, 90 rotation, and operating voltage of 4.8 to 6 volts.  Preferably all the same model.

I don't have much cash, but I can offer hosting (1yr, domain registration (whatever.com/net/org), mysql db, etc) and a custom XHTML 1.0 strict design.

	Define: servo The electro-mechanical device which moves the control surfaces or throttle of the airplane according to commands from the receiver. The radio device which does the physical work inside the airplane. Obviously!

	A Servo is a small device that has an output shaft. This shaft can be positioned to specific angular positions by sending the servo a coded signal. As long as the coded signal exists on the input line, the servo will maintain the angular position of the shaft. As the coded signal changes, the angular position of the shaft changes. not neccesarily for planes, but yes remote planes would be a good use for them. Why do you need them ens?

	the proximal inter phalangeal and distal inter phalangeal joints are going to use one servo, the DIP is going to be passively following the PIP joint, like the common human hand, and one servo for the metacarpal phalangeal joint. and these are just for the prototype. then final will have one servo for each joint +1 for the side to side finger motion, 3 for the thumb, stepper motor for wrist rotation, and 2 servos for the horizontal and vertical motions. the whole thing is going to made of 2*2 670g twill weave carbon fiber, that will make it light enough to give alot of control using the cable system even if i use only 1 servo for the DIP and PIP as long as i configure the pulleys just right.

	You're building a robotic hand? If I had them I would hook you up for free, just because of what you are doing. Unfortunately I do not, which makes this a pointless post. Anyhow, good luck :/
