Hi everyone, I've made a mockup picture of a mobile phone game screenshot. It would be a turn based strategy war game. Any comments would be welcome, cheers!

Was the "R" in Troops purposely done backwards?

Very simple and cool. I like the jetting hills, like you have to walk around them or something. Good work!

Yeah, I wanted the officer to "sound" like he was from the east
. I know a lot of you are saying this looks a lot like Tank Wars, but to be honest I got all my inspiration from Red Alert and an awesome mobile phone game called Ancient Empires: http://www.macrospace.com/games/ancient_empires/index.shtml?screenshots.shtmlAs you can see it resembles it very closely. |

Yes, although that game's basically a mix between Famicom/Advance Wars and Fire Emblem.

Well if you think about it in reality nearly every game is a copy of another.

about the mockup. i like it - even if it`s very very close to advance wars.

Famicom Wars was made about 3 years before Battle Isle.

I think you should make the tile-edges more obvious on the sea and plain tiles, otherwise it would result in player disorientation; that's what they've been doing in the Nintendo Wars series ever since they stopped using the black grid lines. You might as well use those games as references instead.

Tennis for two was created in the 50ties because those technic guys of the US were pretty bored when not making war stuff for the cold war. Without the cold war we didnt even have a such good market for video games.
