Trying to get back into pixel art after not doing anything for six months.
A Profile shot of a guy, with a border. ![]() A Profile shot of a guy. I used this as a reference, not for shaping but shading. I tried to mimic Terley's shading style in terms of color and dithering, though I believe mine is at best a poor imitation. Regardless, I'd like any help I could get. His jaw looks wider than it should be.
Good shading and color choices. :) |

I'm not sure I know what you mean. How would I fix that?

Well... shorten it. XD I'm.. not sure how to explain it. It looks like it's too big. I guess I'll do an edit...
This looks more anatomically correct, IMO. I just took off a layer of the jaw shading so the jaw looked less big. Edited by Aleiav - 20 June 2007 at 10:44am |

I think I managed to fix it.
I doubt it's much better though. Edited by Macks - 20 June 2007 at 2:01pm |

get some aa to the edges of the hair, no need for very smooth, jsut some basic aa will help.
also... I think if you extend the canvas to the right, while keeping the signature in the right corner, it'll help the composition a lot: right now it's a bit crammed into a square and the sig is so close to the face, don't you think?

I agree with mykola on the sig thing. As for the hair i was hoping you would fill that in and actually draw the hair.

No actual hair, sorry. As I said in the first post, I'm mimicking Terley, and his pieces lack that hair shading.
