Pixel Joint Forum: Walking Animation Trouble

Message

   I've read tutorials, I've tried many times to make them, I'm still having a hard time making walking animations. I understand them pretty well until I actually need to do them, then I suddenly forget everything I learned. The result is always a terrible animation.

Heres the sprite I'm trying to animate:

Here's the first frame, which turned out terrible. I can't possibly continue it the way it is:

Walk animations just confuse me so much, so if someone could help me somehow it would be great.

	I've read through that, and many other tutorials. They just don't help for some reason.

	Have you also read ManningKrull's tutorial? At this point, I don't think there's anything we can do other than pointing out tutorials. Perhaps you could show us one of your earlier attempts?

	Here's an attempt I made a while ago at a walk animation. I read that other tutorial before, but that was a while ago, so I think I'll read through it again and see what I can make.

	*now the link works :) yeah, i think the problem is that youve got to few frames. one thing i noted in manningkrull's is that the foot forms an oval motion :O how stupid am i for not noticing that before :(

	That ManningKrull tut is great. I think your attempt there isn't bad. Arms movements and head bobbing always help in the illusion of a walk it seems to me.
