Closed, since it's the border. Nice idea, I like it.
/note - Blacksmiths would have little in the way of wooden furniture in the vacinity, considering they work very close with fire/ sparks. |

Noone has ever made an open top so I say go with that.
You will need contrast on this. I think intensifing the fire will do that. |

Looks nice so far, and lots of detail
. I think this could do with some stronger shadows in order to break up the texture and to define the shapes a bit better. The table in the middle of the room looks a tad small (or conversely, the one in the corner may be a tad big). |
