I think only the admin (Sedge) can make polls. I dunno why everyone can't but honestly I would think a topic asking for opinions as posts instead of votes would get more useful responses.

Yes, but I think it is easier to get proper statistics because a little more people would answer when all needed is just one click.

And it would be nice if everyone could create them, I mean it's just like creating a new topic (which anyone can do) just as a poll.
