Project Name:
Legendary Monster

Who we are:

We are currently a duo. I am a freelance graphic designer out of Seattle, Washington who loves anything monster related. My associate is a student at the University of Washington currently studying computer sciences.

Our Roles:
Myself: Graphic designer
Partner: Developer
You: Pixelist

The Project:

Legendary Monster is an application currently being built for Facebook. The  point of the application is to raise your own pet monster, as well as collect more monsters as you gain money and experience. Your main monster can be leveled as high as you want to create a legendary monster. Breed your new monsters, fight your friends, and trade them.

Aim:
Who doesn't love a good monster collecting game?

What we need:
We're looking for someone that can come up with at least 50 monsters to start with. We want to start the application off with a nice selection. They don't need to be any bigger than 64x64. Each monster should have 3 forms: The small box that it comes in, a standard form, and an evolved form. So, total we're looking at 150 sprites.

Website:
Currently we don't have anything up on the web. I can however link you to my current portfolio, which can be seen HERE (I apologize in advance for it's size.)

Compensation:
I marked this listing as paid/unpaid because all the revenue generated from the application is from Google ads. While they do pay well, you never know if they'll pay enough to fund all the people within a project. If they pay out well, we'd be happy to send a check your way, otherwise, this is a great way to get your work seen by the 24 million Facebook users that see the site everyday. All the revenue earned by the ads is split evenly between all team members.

To apply:
Please send examples of your work, and have some experience. If you want an example of what we're looking for, check out the Army of Trolls Adoption Agency: http://www.armyoftrolls.co.uk/website/html/adoption.htm

Contact:
Please send all necessary information to:
e-mail: eon(at)inkoholics(dot)com
aim: ThenEonSaid

Thanks!

150 sprites with no certainty of pay? Dude you must be insane that's maybe more than a year's worth of work. I think by that time the entire facebook fad may have passed. What I would suggest is to use tradition art cleaned up in photoshop or maybe flash drawings.

Thank you for the suggestion Skaka. Let me clarify:

We're looking for VERY simple sprites, 8-bit looking, blown up, that fit an image size of 64x64. <-- good example. simple colors, no shading needed, and no animation needed. If time is a concern, then we can start the app off with a run of 10 monsters. Every few weeks or so release a new set of 10.

Hope that clarifies what I need. Sorry I wasn't more specific in the post.

This actually sounds very interesting! I'd be happy to help on this. I'd actually be happy to add some shading to the monsters too, if you want ^^
I've just got one question. I'm only 13 years. Will that make any problems with the payment? For some examples on my works:
  - This is not finished yet.

-Some tiles ^^

I hope I can work on this. It sounds really cool ^^ But... You say you have nothing on the web, and then you say that 24 million facebook-users see the site everyday xD It may just be a fail, or just me don't understanding ^^;
By the way, I can't really animate. I've nearly never tried it before, and the only animation source I have is GIMP animation package which I don't understand how to use xD

My email is anders.pluto@hotmail.com

Thank you for the reply Elwin.

The only problem that I see with you being 13 is that all of the earned revenue will be going into a paypal account, so we prefer to distribute the money from there. If you have a way of getting an account, then we'd be happy to work with you. Your tiles look great!

I'm posting the reply because I think it's good information for others seeking the job to know.
