I posted this topic to display various textures I've been practicing with. I will update this every day, each with a unique texture, untill I run out of ideas (of course I'm open to ideas .) C+C welcome.

Compliments on your own challenge. Looks interesting.
But why keep yourself limited to one day? If you need
more days to make it better, just go right ahead!
The idea is nice, but you could do a list of things to do
and work on them.

The glass-shape is a bit odd. Is it a tube for medicine?
I found out that glass is more about reflection and
slight decrease in saturation of the environment than
anything else. So it would benefit from a surrounding.

The bark is nicely done. It cleary 'reads' as a bark/tree
trunk.

The glossy object could maybe need a bit more defined
(and lighter) highlight. If you don't want to add another
color, you can think of making the lightest a bit lighter!?!
