Info
project : Forgotten Destiny
project type : Windows MMORPG (runs in VMWare)
website : http://forgottendestiny.net or http://forgottendestiny.net/dev/ (under construction)
contact : tamagokun@gmail.com

Background
I have been working on creating a classic, original, 2D mmorpg for the people that appreciate classic gaming, and appreciate the amazing concept of pixel art. I have been developing this game mostly by myself for nearly 5 years. It has gone through numerous amounts of changes and code rewrites, and I finally have a good stable version, and am almost ready to release this publicly!

As of now, it's completely playable, the storyline, is set, and game mechanics are all in tact. You can read more on the website, but to sum up the general story of the game : [present day] an exotic vacation continent has been struggling through a civil war, which resulted in nuclear war. after many many years, a small organization assembled a group of volunteers to travel to the continent to help those in need, and try to figure out the cause and outcome of the civil war. so the players of the game would be the members of this organization, and include : (soldier, beast master, scientist, and medic) all which have a sub-story explaining their unique abilities. so this continent (the game world) is more or less a run down but sort of modern land.

Development

I am a Web Designer based out of Ann Arbor, MI with a wife and a baby on the way. My skills of pixeling can only go so far, and I am desperately searching for a partner to help develop this game, and show it's potential to the world!

Payment

I don't have any sort of budget nailed out right now, but if anyone is interested, you can show me samples and give me quotes. I am essentially searching for someone who has a passion for role-playing games, and creating retro amateur pixel art. I hope to find someone who is more than just a contributing artist, but someone who will become a part of the game, and offer their input for adding features, or giving suggestions. of course you will have a huge place in the credits of the game, and a cut of any donations that come through to the project.

I am very serious about this project, and plan on purchasing multiple FAST servers and running multiple servers to allow for maximum playability and 1000s of players online at once. I am also considering making "mini" version of the client that will be web based in either flash or possibly java to be able to server to everyone.

The Pixels

I am looking for 2 things mainly :

tile sets, and monsters.

basic tile sets (terrain and such) are 32 x 32, and the standard player size is about 32x64. I am looking for tiles for ground, trees, hills, water, buildings, and much much more.

as far as monsters, i prefer pixel dimensions around the size of (32 x 64) except for main monsters which can be larger.
monsters need to have the following animations :

walking, 6 directions
attacking, 6 directions
being hit, 2 directions

As of Now

I will you leave you with a screenshot in-game just to give you a taste of what this whole thing is like. If you would like to play, please don't hesitate to PM me, or send me an email (tamagokun@gmail.com) and i can send you a copy of the client for you to play on.

Thank You!!

as much as i love isometric games, I have put way too much time and effort into trying to get this thing off the ground, and I think it is too late to just let it go and start something new....

but I have always wanted to have tile sets that were... isometric-esque

Oh well if you change your mind contact me let me know. I'm not into making flat graphics I only do iso.

Unless you want to keep the concept and update the graphics.

if you show me some example work, i would be all for switching to iso mode but keeping this project going.. that would be totally awesome.. and it wouldn't cause too much of a change in code on my end..

First heres an iso path I was working on for one of my games but I have no coder so...

These were iso characters I was using for my game, I'll tweak em a bit for ur game most likely.

I just made this 2 days ago for a Habbo competition, the competition ends at the end of the month so I dont know if I win but I love it
