i would really like to get the problems with this straightened out before i start shading
it looks kinda wonky

Don't link like that, for starters. It's gets a bit annoying when trying to zoom in. >_<

My suggestion, get a ref pic to make it easier.

Here, I found a pic that's pretty close to what you're trying to make. Hope it helps.
