CHALLENGE: Isometric Item

ceddo challenges you to pixel a single isometric household item of your choice, drawn using fantasy/steampunk/sci-fi theme. Can be a lamp, phone, anything (no specific scale). Can be anything as long as it could have a household use.

Seems like a nice challenge.

Little question because my english is not good, what's the meaning of steampunk ?

The fanta bottle is cute but is is iso?

if you're interested, this is how I started out making the bottle.



So it does fit iso perspective, but I can also see how it can very easily be seen as non-iso. Also, I tried making the face and the logo on an angle so it would be a bit more clear, I don't know how else I can make it more obvious whilst keeping it upright. I don't really want to put it on its side, I think it would just look stupid that way :(

Any better?

I'll do a seat by Lecorbusier, because even if is a modern design item, this seat is very used in Sci-fi movie or games, for example assassin's creed ..

@Ska:  The face and label on the bottle is out of perspective(they seem to just be side-on)  Other than that, it looks very nice.

Ok, I think I've fixed the face/label perspective issue...

I would argue that Fanta could be seen as a household item. I have checked and I can't find a definition of exactly what a "household item" *is*. But I have done some googling and there are many sites that refer to cans and bottles of soft drink (pop...or whatever...) as household items. For example this, which claims that bottles or cans could be used for arm exercises, under the title of "Use household items for exercise equipment".

The way I see it is that household items could be any inanimate objects that people would generally have in their house (yes, this is a *very* vague definition, but 'household items' is a very vague term). People would generally keep drinks in their fridge, an item you listed as a household item.
I would agree with excluding cats from bring household items, as I don't think animals could be considered 'items'. However, I think I would accept a poster of a cat as a household item.
A vending machine, as I said earlier, wouldn't really be considered a household item, as I think it would be too much of a stretch of the imagination to think that people would keep vending machines in their houses. Also, they are clearly not designed to be stored in people's houses.

With the 'fantasy/steampunk/sci-fi' criteria, I believe a sentient bottle of Fanta would technically count as fantasy. I do agree that I haven't taken the bounds of this criteria to the fullest extent, but awh well...I was originally thinking of just having a faceless fanta bottle...since Fanta is short for fantas(ie/y). In a similar way to Adarias's food warrior being based off a character from the movie "The Warriors".

Once again, it would be nice if the author of the challenge would clarify what is acceptable and what isn't. :(

tl;dr: I think I'm perfectly within the rules here, and believe me, there have been far less fitting stuff submitted to weekly challenges...

I started playing around with some animation last night...but animation hates me :( so we'll see what happens...

That looks pretty pimp so far zlajonna. I think the wheels still doesn't look completely isometric though.

I really enjoy drawing in isometric for some reason.

When I go to submit my pic for the challenge...it says i need a 100x100 small version....does that mean just a thumbnail or does the small version need to be exactly the same (animated and everything) as the big version?

Pretty cool.  Is it a tow behind generator for your carriage?  Maybe brown down some those blacks on the main boiler thing?  Also, what's the scale here?  Is the outlet supposed to be the same size as a modern outlet?  If so, does it really need 4 wheels, and not a handle on top?

It's not that bad,although looking at fenstalkers im at a dissadvantage being small.

This site IS for fun and creativity but this week's challenge, like every week have specific rules applied to the challenge. There is no need to apologize. Just read the rules before joining in, no? Say you did make an error in reading the rules and someone or even many point it out its nothing to insult/diss you or anything, just pointers.
At no point was it said or even remotely suggested that you were terrible. I will however go out on a limb and say your attitude IS terrible.

I do take exception to the Emo and Goth statement....I'm Bitchy, and OverDramatic and I have an unnecessarily profound grasp of dark sarcasm...but Emo/Goth?  I'd say you've missed the mark.  You're not ISO sir!   In fact NONE OF YOU ARE ISO!!!!
