CHALLENGE: Genre Bending

Challenge winner Kaiseto wants you to pixel a scene or landscape showing a setting that displays two or more different movie genres mixed together. Choose at least 2 of the following genres:

    Sports
    Romance
    Monster movie
    Western
    Steampunk
    Noir

Make sure to mention which genres you're using.

Canvas Size - Min 150 x 100; Max 240 x 160. Either horizontal or vertical.
Colors - Max 32.
Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

If you click on the link under Monster movie you can read the wikipedia page. And judging by it, yes. Even the Mummy is ok I think.

i'm thinking of doing steampunk romance...is this acceptable?

@sapphira: The guy looks steampunk but the woman should be in a Victorian ballgown or something.

Looking great so far.

About colours, you can easily cut down the colours. Check your similar colours and see if you can combine them, I can see you've already done that, but I think you could try thinking more outside the square. For example grey doesn't need to be pure grey.

Also, you have some stray pixels - there's a random purple on the back of the dress.

Maybe play around with the smoke from the smoke stacks on the left, I think it's a bit distracting at the moment. Personally, I would make the smoke a little less messy and more of a smooth shape. Also, I think a darker colour would help the smoke to appear more in the background and keep the focus more on the couple.

apparently, it's gonna take me a tad bit longer to make the clouds, so i'm bowing out of the challenge (for now). i need to focus on my finals (yeah it's that time again). i'll have it up during thanksgiving break.

... steam punk. Thanks, I think so too... Apparently it needs revision because it doesn't have the score needed for approval. Weird, huh?

Ahck, I got sick a couple days ago, so I have gotten almost no where. So that is me, too, bowing out. But I am going to try and finish it anyways.

just a sketch , its a very early WIP, The monster should be holding some tools as gift to his date , it still needs a lot of work , but I'm satisfied  with how's looking at the moment....

I'm bending Monsters Movies with Romance and a bit of Steampunk
