![]() Topic: Arms on a little manPosted: 07 December 2009 at 5:45am |
![]() This chap needs some proper arms. On the left is my latest abortive attempt... He always seems to end up with a really feeble arm or a massively oversized bicep. I covered up the shoulders with a dragon ball style ridiculous shoulder pad, but decided it would look better without it, so did the guy on the right. I'm aware there are other issues with this guy, but if anyone could help with the arms that would be nice. |

![]() Here's two that I did quickly... Still look odd, though. If anyone could help me that would be great. I think that the head of the one on the right is probably how that bit'll end up. Edited by GormenGhast - 07 December 2009 at 6:07am |

I think the arms are ok now, but the legs look too short and slanted. Tried to address that in this edit:
![]() I'm not satisfied with them though, no good at anatomy... Also changed your palette: all your reds are the same hue, then you have some neutral greys. I shifted the lightest red towards pinks, made one even lighter and used it instead of the lightest grey, finally shifted the other greys towards blues. Tried a little AA here and there, esp the helmet; some banding issues remain. |

I think the arms look fine. I agree with Manupix about the legs though. Nice looking character you have there.

I like the top half of the body for the most part, just the helmet one or two pixels too tall to me. I agree that the legs seem too short for the rest of the body, and I like Manupix's edit there.
I'm not such a fan of the red highlight in Maun's helmet, maybe try blue if you want to do something like that, though it would increase the color count. |

Thanks for all the help, guys. I'm going to get back to this guy now, so I'm probably going to try a bit of the suggested highlighting and perhaps lengthen those pesky legs... :D

I think this is looking quite good. The outfit and design are all neat. The main problem (aside from the arms) seems to be his posture. He is leaning too far forward, and the different bits of his body are rotated wrong. Heres a little edit:
![]() Mostly I just grabbed chunks with the selection tool and moved them around, except both shoulders I made smaller. I think he looks sturdier now, more natural. |
