I don't know why I suddenly remembered this washing powder ad I loved as a kid (found on this insane page full of washing-related ads!). I liked the name 'enzymes gloutons' (gluttonous enzymes, supposed to eat stains away) as much as the little hungry blobs, I think. We kids drew them everywhere.
Surprisingly the web is very scarce in images from this campaign, but there is this video. I don't think I had ever seen it, we only got a TV in 1973. The ad campaign was catastrophic and the brand was scrapped shortly afterwards: people were frightened the 'enzymes gloutons' would eat away their clothes, too. Wondered why washing powders only ever get the worse possible uncreative ads? |
