Right, I've never pixelled anything to do with nature, any backgrounds or anything before. So here's the rough sketch:

C+C and Advice would be very welcome. ( I need this for an RPG I am working on)

what's to critique? it's just a large blue area above a large green area. gradients are usually vertical on skies, don't understand the shading on the ground because i don't understand the ground or what you want to do with the horizon line.

You make a pretty good point, maybe I should do something with it before asking for critique. :/

EDIT - Mountains that slowly fade, detail to be added later. Aswell as clouds, line fixups, and shading.

I think you are doing too much cell shading and haven't defined a light source. Why is the light green spot there? Is it going uphill? what is the bumps of green for? Just some things to think about.

It's supposed to be overgrown grass on the edge of a cliff. Sorry if my sketch was too rough. :P

That would make the mountains pebbles if your grass is that large. Grass isn't that big next to a mountain. You could maybe make it into trees, or just smooth it out. I think you are going for shading when you haven't got the general sketch out. I'm sorry if i'm coming off harsh. I'm just trying to point out somethings for you to think about when working on this.

Oh no, the mountains our off into the distance, really far away, at the moment, you're on the edge of a cliff.
