Made this during the olympics, but I guess the edit is a little late
This Got rejected
Need ideas for improvement
Need C+C so I can get it into the gallery
Note: When I submited it, the red was transparent

My guess is that it is a big image with only a small section being used. Maybe you could reduce the size of the work? You may want to just focus on the grandstand for this submission.

Regarding the two checkered flags, you could introduce a general wind direction to show how to flag is being blown. Otherwise, make it look hanging down like the flag on the grandstand.

This looks good so far just that a little colouring at the curved section of the grandstand would be better. (Shading and lighting can be done later)

Basically - unclean lines (checkered flags), unclear perspective, loads of empty space, wasted colours (the rings).

Try to sketch it out on paper first. If you can't get it right on paper, then you should try a less challenging angle.
