Hi. I've been working on some NES mock-ups but have been hampered by my uncertainty regarding the most accurate palette possible for the hardware. I've tried multiple but there several sources suggesting some other versions, but I'm unsure of what to do.
I've read about how the NES doesn't have a palette per se, with the NTSC decoder on televisions being responsible for the color interpretation and output, but this only makes it harder to choose one. I've already changed (many times for the worse) my mock-ups due to this issue. For now I've reverted to the "default" (one I've found on Wikipedia), but I'd like to know if anyone has a better solution. Not saying the one on the wiki is wrong, but is it accurate? If not, what would be the closest one? Thanks in advance. |

probably the easiest way to capture nes colours (if someone didn't do the same before and shared it) is to use a dvd recorder connected to a real nes displaying all colours as possible (probably you can do that on hudson basic somehow? or some rom file in an everdrive that can display all colours?) - and then getting some frames or screenshots of this dvd (like from vlc)
