Hi all,

I've made very small, basic sprites before, but this is my first attempt at any kind of real shading and I'm having trouble with it (as most people do starting out, it seems). This is a sprite for a game I'm working on. It's going to be a side scrolling beat 'em up with a 1970's blaxploitation theme.

I'm having the most trouble with shading and adding detail to the arm with such a small amount of pixels to use. The face is tricky too.

Any hints you guys can offer at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Well the only tip I can give at this moment is to use more contrast. Use highlights and dark spots.

Don't be afraid to mix up colors or to change colors for darker and lighter spots.

For example, use a darker purple for the shadows on the blue pants.

Without me, it's just aweso
