A forum with no new activity is a closed envelope.
A forum with new activity is an open envelope with stuff hanging out. --- An unread (new) private message is a closed envelope. A read (no longer new) private message is an open envelope with stuff hanging out. What am I supposed to believe is inside these closed envelopes, and why are they allowed to be inconsistent? They have run rampant for too long, I say! |

They are different because the gallery and the forum use different apps that don't play well together : /
