Ugh. Not this crappy pseudoscience again. It's dangerous nonsense, and some people who believe this kind of crap are dying because of it.
Whenever someone talks about "energy" in that way, you can be absolutely sure they are talking nonsense. That's not what energy is, at all. Anyway, from what we know about the universe, our mind is nothing but a product of biochemistry. Anything else beyond that is a matter of belief, without any evidence so far that it is true. And trust me, the people who would want it to be true are the ones who admit it isn't due to lack of evidence. Thinking our minds can alter reality, or particularly DNA which is nothing but a big molecule made of little repeating chunks of atoms, is a ridiculous idea. Here's why. Our body is made of billions of billions of cells, all of which have their own copy of our DNA. The DNA is made of little chunks, called bases. There are four of these, but there could have been any number of them. All life on Earth just happens to have evolved from an initial molecule that happened to have 4 bases. DNA is just a redundant version of RNA (which is just one side of the double spiral). The whole thing is really just a very ingenious recipe for creating proteins. The complexity of effects of the DNa code in physiology is staggering, having arisen from billions of years of evolution, and we're only beginning to understand it. Now, what this guy proposes is that your mind can manipulate trillions of individual atoms, which have to be in the right place close to all the trillions of individual copies of DNA in the right time, on these trillions of cells in the specific configuration to create these bases, in the right place in all these parts of the genome for making anything useful and specific happen in the overall physiology of the body, which in the end depends on YOUR interpretation of it. All this without the mind having any innate understanding of physics, chemistry, biology or genetics, and without having any noticeable power over matter, specially matter at that absolutely invisible scale. I appreciate your input, but I'm not so sure about what you mean, this guy has many many years working on DNA research and such, so I can't really drop these beliefs like that easily... also understand where you stand man, you are a pixel artist, not a DNA scientist like him. :\ I don't mean to sound like defending myself, just letting you know why I am acting this way. Also, hope you watched the entire documentary. |

I have to question whether your repeated attempts to force pseudo-science on a board of nerds (you know, intelligent people) aren't just an attempt at sophisticated trolling.
If it isn't, my apologies for the assumption (and this is why you shouldn't try trolling nerds, especially here at PJ, which is pretty troll-resistant), but perhaps if you choose to subscribe to ideas with no factual basis simply because they're wrapped up in fancy propaganda you'd be better off keeping it to yourself, unless it's a cry for help and you want to be talked out of it.

My thoughts on any theory - Never trust a lone person insisting that everyone else is lying to you, or that "they" don't want you to know what they have to say. My mom got a bit obsessed with "natural cures" and sh*t a while back, not that there arent plenty of natural plants and such with great medicinal uses, but this was crap like magnetic bracelets and junk, which was one of the first Quack psuedo-science bull i read about. So i did a bit of research and found that the author of the specific book she read kept insisting that he couldnt name this or that because "they" would come for him if they did... which from my research I found was because of court orders and such for being a fraud and a scammer. Nutjobs aren't worth my time. |

He's a single person going against the mainstream, one guy against the well-established scientific theories supported by the entire scientific community. It's not me against him, it's the entire scientific community against him, and I'm just on the side of the community here. If a geologist claims Earth is only 6000 years old, he's likely to be nuts. I don't have to be a geologist to understand why that claim is false, I just have to know enough about the science behind it. Knowledge is knowledge, it doesn't take a degree to make it worth something. Also, if this guy had any solid evidence to support his wild claims, he would have already gained enormous prestige in the scientific world. 1ucas = ...what community? you're the only one who are going against him... well I give him credit, cause after all he's an actual scientist, I can't give you much credit for saying he's wrong, since you're not even a scientist to begin with... once again, it's not you the reason why I chose to give him credit / believe him, it's just common sense that I have to listen to him instead of you, cause he's the one that has the side of the experience... as you can tell, he points out why the people who believe in evolution is wrong, etc. greenraven = if you watched it and didn't get it, it's cause you didn't pay attention haha.  |

Another thing to note is that his name isn't obviously listed in the video information or anything.
Had to find it in the comments. It's almost like they don't want you to do any more research on the topic and rather just take his word for it. You don't need to be a great pixel artist to see a flaw in pixels. You don't need to be a politician to notice bullsh*t. You sure as hell don't need to be a scientist to realise when someone is a crackpot. |

LOL. He has applied a simple reverse of common knowledge, incorrectly I will state immediately, to try and prove the bulk of his theory. While it is true that your emotions and feelings have some effect on the actions of your body, it does not work vice versa. A class I had to take in my freshman and junior year was specifically on how the body reacted to the mind and its' psyche. Many studies have been conducted and all prove that cells are just CELLS. They don't control emotion or the mind in any way. Their job is to do their predetermined job and function. The only thing that is responsible for how you feel is your brain. Otherwise what would happen if your toe was sad? If your finger got angry? I'd hate to know the emotional reactions of my vagina as I passed a baby. ------------- Hello - I'm new here. :) |
