My Lucario and Pokemon Trainer Habbo sprites were rejected because of "REASON: Only submit your own work."
This is my work. What reason do you have that it isn't mine? I just joined, so I am posting some works I have done in the past.

Ignore this post. I had a total brain-fart when writing this.

They are edits of existing sprites. The first is an edit of a habbo character, the second is created out of parts of various Lucario sprites.

Ok then. I didn't know that you couldn't do that.

It is mine. The Habbo one may have a Habbo as a base, but I made everything on the body. Although searching the gallery, I see there are no Habbo alts at all.
The Lucario is mine. I created it from scratch, but some parts were fail, so I added parts from other Lucario sprites, like the ears and arm. I might upload the previous version that didn't have the pieces and parts of the other sprites.

Yeah, that's called art theft.

Regardless of whether or not it's theft, on PJ you're not allowed to use parts from other sprites, "official" or otherwise.

On a related note, does this rule include sprites developed from Kaizer templates? Being as they are developed for public use provided credit is given to the HKCP team, I see no immediate reason why this should be so, but just checking.

Dolls and templates are a gray area. Best to avoid them.
Yes they are declared public use, but PJ itself has rules about only submitting 100% originality. So you can see where the problem comes it.

Absolutely, I didn't plan on submitting them to my gallery but was worried about being shunned mercilessly were I to post them in the WIP section for criticism. I'm working on original stuff as well but humanoid characters are impossible for me, as artistically retarded as I am, so the templates help.

You can post them in the WIPs if you want, it's less merciless than the gallery.

Hello adscomics, welcome to the forum! I'm sorry that your submissions were rejected and I also do not know why for sure, but I imagine the moderator thought that they could do with more work before they could be considered approvable.
I strongly suggest you make a thread in the WIP board in the forum with them as the topic, and ask for critique and comments to help you work-on and perhaps improve the pieces. Good luck and happy pixelling!

Yea, I think they were too simply colored for some Mod.

Is it the same if you are going to post something that you've made while following the instructions of a tutorial? When I do so, I start from scratch, making the base pixel by pixel. I guess it is a gray area as well?

Yes. http://www.gas13.ru/v3/tutorials/isometric_pixelart_tutorial_isometric_house.php - This is a perfect example . Submitting things you've made with tutorials is a bit iffy.

Yeah, I thought as much Then I have another question: How is it with fan-art? It is not 100% original, since I didn't come up with the idea for, as a example, Card Capture Sakura, but the fanart itself is made by me and my pixels >_>

Fan art is ok. Though Sonics and Marios tend to be frowned upon. Gokus too.
adscomics, things get rejected for other reasons too you know.

I think your little spaceships should either be together on one sheet or you should pay them a little more attention, because there's not a lot to say or do about such simple pieces, especially because there are so many of yours. What did your PM say when they were flagged?
