Hi all,

I am a fairly decent at music / programming as well as a hobbyist pixel artist. I was looking through the board and saw this post here:

About someone turning pixel art into games. It looked like he got a decent response from a few people here but had to stop doing it. Well I wouldn't mind doing something similar so here is my little advert !

Turning YOUR Pixel Art into a Game !

I am looking for competent pixel artists looking to take their existing / new pixel work and turn it into a commercially viable shareware game, or for smaller games a freeware demo. Sound good ? Well there will be some limitations:

  • Credits for the various parts will be clearly labeled
  • No Isometric Games at the Present Time
  • Prefer projects where we can turn them into a viable shareware product
  • 50 / 50 Profit Split if applicable
  • I handle the code / music / sound, You provide the art.
  • Willing to work with / compromise on game design
  • Can accept I can only do a few hours work each day with more each weekend
  • Seriously want to do this !

So if you think you have a decent idea / mock up for a game and want to see it happen, and better yet want to see it to a stage where it is a fully complete game then I'd love to hear from YOU !

So what are the advantages for you:

  • You have a fully working game with your name on it
  • If applicable, you can make some money when the project is done
  • You can see what is required to make a full game

So why am I doing this ?

  • IMO I lack the skill set to produce the required art
  • If applicable I too can make some money when the project is complete
  • I want to develop a relationship with a number of pixel artists who are interested in making games, particularly shareware products.
  • I can use the project to launch my own shareware games/business
  • It is a good experience.

In conclusion, I am willing to work with pixel artists here who are decent and have game art and concepts they would like to see made. If that is you, I want to develop a relationship with YOU and embark on future projects of both YOUR's and MINE (If you are interested). If the project can turn a profit it would also be worthwhile.

Thanks for your time,

Glenn.

P.S. I want to re-iterate that I am very serious about this and I hope you would also take this seriously. I don't plan on messing people around and therefore don't want to be messed around either. I am open, honest and up front with everything and if you want to discuss something let me know.

P.P.S. Really love Platform Games as well if this helps !!

<EDIT> P.P.P.S. I don't have a shareware business structure in place yet. I have run my own physical business for a few years now which is my "day job" and wish to keep seperate from this endevour. However I am looking for a completed / almost completed project before I start setting up the business end of things.
