Hi there..
*first post*..
My name ist Espér, and i´m looking for a pixel artist.
The template is really big, and i´ve no clue how much i should pay.. so i
think the price is negotiable.
I need a very giant turtle for my game.
This is the template (>2,5MB):
http://npshare.de/files/7add701f/Turtle.jpg - http://npshare.de/files/7add701f/Turtle.jpg
The turtle´s mouth should be closed on the graphic.
The Style: I don´t know if you know the Rpg-Maker XP RTP.. so.. here´re
examples of the RTP-Style:
I don´t need an animation... just the turtle in the size of the
template, in RTP Style. http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/2619/actor1qf7.png

I hope for many Helpers *fat grin*

Hello,
First of all, are we talking about a spritesheet for a then to be animated Turtle or just a single graphic that is to be displayed alone? Aswell, be a little more precise, what dimensions did you think of?
The level of detail is rather "high" of RTP, something bigger than 150x150 would get expensive :P

The Size of this Thing should Be really near at the Template i posted.
And, i just need a standalone graphic. No animation, no Background, "just" the turtle.
Cause of Prize... I asked in other Forums (like the spriters Ressource or mugen-boards), and they said something around 150-200€..
I think that's ok for such a Thing. But my Limit is a Bit higher than 200 XD

So it's supposed to act as sort of mountain or island I believe?
why not make 1 level with the back of a turtle or something...this is so huge, sorry to say this, but this is nonsense and just too much of work, while you could aquire similar effects with less effort (=saves money too, for better quality)
For estimation, PIXELART at this scale...is, sorry... but, priceless (for the quality of RTP) It would even be hard to keep it at a low colorcount...

why low colorcount?? I haven´t heard of that the Rpg-maker XP has a colorlimit XD
For the level thing. That´s not possible. The complete turtle will be one Map in the complete game. The turtle itself is just the first part of that thing. I need to plant trees on it, building a town and a complete tempel..etc.. So i need the complete turtle, to plant things on it and build the village/wooden planks and the tempel.. and at last thing, i´ll cut it into a tileset.

I think you would be better off in other forums that doesn't concentrate on pixel art. Like some digital painting forums. This is very well achievable in CG, probably a mix of 3D model which is then painted on very detailed. There are a lot of guys who do this.

In highquality I estimate this to take around 140 workdays or so :P

I think Chaosgod_Espér means that he needs map in the form of a turtle. If that is true, the job is in making usual level tiles + some turtle features (which also can be made of tiles). A bit like Turtle Willage in Golden Axe.
Which is a lot of work still, but makes understandable how pixelart can be used.

Uhm
Not really.. XD
at the end, i want ti create something similar to this:
just with a Sea-turtle Anf. Much greater, cause there will be a Zeldalike Temple on her back, and a forest AND a Little Village.
All that is no Problem.. But that turtle xD

My skills lie in digital illustration. I would be more than happy to digital paint him for you. If you would like. Is he to be used as a background for something or? With the template there he should be quite fun to paint. Though once that 2.5 mb file is painted it will be quite a bit of a larger file size.
Anyway if you are interested in maybe going with digital painting instead of pixel art, pm me and I can send a resume and portfolio link etc.

The shell and a lot of the body could be done as a tile set with a bit of igenuity.
It's still a huge task though.

If it's all on the back of the turtle, do you need anything other than the back drawn?

you're joking right?
i agree digital paint is a better option.
thing is, you wont be seeing all of that at once, so if you want pixels get someone to pixel you a tileset that looks likt its on the back of a turtle, then get someone to make you a smaller graphic for when you need to see the entire turtle.

This is ridiculously big by pixel art standards, but I'm not afraid of a challenge. It won't be cheap though I'm afraid.
Do you have an IM-adress which I can add? I feel IM's are better to discuss things.

I would estimate this higher than 200-300€ though, not as low as that...
