Hi, everyone

Can someone defend Microsoft Paint please. The reason I say this, is actually to get the best references to the program. I am starting out and MSPaint is mentioned everywhere, but I don't know of too many tutorials that are very indepth about the program.

Also, are there differences with MSPaint for Windows 7? What would be an excellent workflow for the program. Also a link to a good gallery that is MSPaint specific, so I am not left to wonder if it was done in photoshop.

btw, photoshop is awesome, no problem there. I am interested in MSPaint for now though.

Any other useful software out there? Supported, not obsolete.

if ur experienced with photoshop already u shouldnt probably have any problems with MSpaint.... also id say stick with PS its perfect for pixeling, if set up right... like, say, custom pixel-brushes, palettes, etc etc....

I actually have seen some great Pixel art work created using MSPaint, I have just started (literally a few minutes ago) on using MSPaint to make some stuff of my own.
Its simple to use and already installed on your PC.
Paint.NET is a good one also, free too
Nothing wrong with it, just use something you are comfortable with.

well why wouldn't you be able to find great works made with paint? it's not incapable, it's just cumbersome. I used paint for years and made lots of well-received stuff, but it's an awful program for pixelling, tbh. and it isn't designed specifically for pixelling, so why wouldn't it be?

grafx2 is a much friendlier program and is free. much better palette control, customizable keyboard shortcuts, etc etc etc

or use PS, since you already have it. It's like you've got a car and a pair of wobbly roller skates, and you have to decide how you're gonna get to the office today. stick with the car.

comfort is a horrible reason to stick with a program. it's the excuse i used for quite some time, but becoming familiar with a new program really doesn't take that much time, and the time you'll save using a program that doesn't suck will more than make up for it.

The gallery has 1 or 2 Paint tweaks, tips and tricks and general knowledge in the links section.
